Our Story

1941
Planting Our Roots
Sintaluta Seed Cleaning & Processing originated with Francis and Yvonne Blenkin. They began farming North East of Sinaluta in 1941, and were later joined by their sons Harvey and Len Blenkin, eventually their Grandsons Darren, Larry and Sheldon also joined the team.
1969
Formation
Whispering Pine Farms was formed in 1969 when Harvey and Len joined the Canadian Seed Growers Assn. and that fall, they cleaned their first bushel of specialty Wheat at a facility in Downtown Sinaluta.

New Home
The Whispering Pines cleaning operations moved to a new home after purchasing the Cargill Elevator and building a Cleaning Facility on site.
2003
Expansion
Seven years later, the Whispering Pines team purchased the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool located West of the Cargill for truck-scale commercial storage and office space.

You Be-Ver Believe It!
In the Spring of 2019 Whispering Pines seed business was purchased by Be-Ver Farms from Sedley, SK.

Be-Ver Farms is a multi generational farm owned by the Bechard and Cavers Families. Although the business name has changed slightly, the equipment is now primarily green and the operations team has grown, many things have stayed the same. Darren and Al have stayed on after the purchase and continue to manage operations at Sinaluta. Most importantly, Whispering Pines Seeds Limited is still a family owned operation which works each day to grow quality seed for its Customers.
